Access Statement for The Wootons

 

Introduction

The Wootons is a small ten room Inn situated in the village of Tintagel within 800metres of the sea and close by it's ruined castle which as legend would have us believe is the birthplace of King Arthur

Bedrooms

  • All of our bedrooms are on the first floor which is accessed by a steep stair case.
  • All of our bedrooms offer the following: Lighting as above, good colour contrast between the floor, walls and doors, short pile carpet, all bedding is non-feather, widescreen digital television with remote control, subtitles, and audio description facilities.
  • Rooms are bright and evenly lit. Overhead lighting is controlled by a dimmer switch. Bedside lamps are also in each room. An additional reading lamp is available on request.

 

Bathrooms, Shower-rooms & Toilets (Ensuite or Shared)

  • All rooms have en-suite bathrooms.

 

Public Areas - Halls, Stairs, Landings, Corridors

  • All public areas, halls, stairs, landing, are well lit using a combination of ceiling and wall lights.
  • There is short pile carpet on the stairs, hall and landing.
  • There is a continuous flight of steps to the first floor with a handrail on one side.

 

Public Areas - Lounge

  • The guest lounge is situated on the ground floor with step free/level entry from the front door and stairs.
  • The room has a mixture of seating with sofas and soft chairs as well as some high chairs with and without arms, together with a low coffee table.
  • Lighting is natural daylight and light levels are controlled by switches, with overhead lighting used as well as table lamps around the room.

 

Public Toilet

  • Bar area public toilets
  • Ladies area has two toilets two basins, heating, fan ventilation and mirror
  • Gents area has two urinals, one toilet, basin, mirror and condom machine

 

Dining Room

  • Sun lounge with two steps to access
  • Large clear short pile carpeted floor areas
  • Lighting is natural daylight and light levels are controlled by switches, with overhead and wall lighting used as well.
  • Breakfast is served but you can help yourself to fruit juices cereals and fruit
  • We are able to cater for varying dietary requirements. Please advise us when making a booking.

 

Garden

  • There is a paved patio area which can be accessed from the lounge by fourteen steps. Tables and chairs are available on the patio.
  • Tables and chairs are available on the lawns with a terraced area with fine views on a south facing slope

  • No smoking anywhere inside the building
  • Dog friendly
  • The nearest General Hospital with an A&E unit and walk in NHS is 40 miles away and the nearest Doctor’s surgery is 1 mile away. Please let us know if you require further information about these.
